Description

A Star Story is an indie RPG by Deep and Osiris of Treehouse Studios. Star Story is inspired by the various WRPGs/JRPGs of the 80s, 90s, 00s that we came to grow and love during our childhoods.

The game follows Dom a lively young boy with a strong sense of courage and curiosity and his best friend the timid Toby as together, they venture through the odd lands that make up their world (and others), on a quest to discover what makes them special.

Dom, the Star Child

A young boy from the quiet, natural, rural areas surrounding the city of Newton, Dom is an adventurous boy with no lack of energy or curiosity. Though he doesn't give it much thought he always seems to be the one who ends up leading others and the one that others look up to. Despite this, Dom struggles to find his purpose in life. It's this drive that leads Dom and his best friend out of the small city of Newton into the large and wacky world of Erret!

Toby, the Best Friend

Favorite Food: Ham and Pineapple Chips

Dom's best friend and neighbor, Toby grew up alongside Dom in Newton as his father is very good friends with Dom's.  Toby is a warm-hearted and well-meaning individual with a very bright mind but a very dull sense of both motor and social skills. He depends on and respects Dom and makes sure to always try his hardest to make sure he gives back when needed. Through thick and think Toby joins Dom on his adventure... maybe even when he shouldn't.

Hank, the Father

Favorite Food: Newton Burger
Favorite Weapon: Blunt Objects

Dom's father and lifelong and loyal citizen of Newton and its surrounding areas. Hank is an everyman with lots of experience in survival in the wilderness that makes him a great mentor for any projects and adventures that Dom and Toby manage to whip up. He raises Dom on his own while his mother is away performing important classified research with an undisclosed agency. He is fully supportive of Dom's adventurous curiosity but will also be the first to remind him of the importance of safety.

Nadia, the Prodigy

A young prodigy in Star Magic from the city of Neonopolis, Nadia was able to perform incredible feats at a very young age with very little effort. Originally clueless to the source or reason for her powers recent research into Star Magics is showing promising results when used as a comparison. She is a protected and well-known figure within Neonopolis and is never found too far from her personal bodyguard Virgil. Nadia is a  proud and loud-mouthed young girl with a short temper which can sometimes become an issue when things don't go her way.

Virgil, the Bodyguard

Favorite Food: Neonopolis Knuckle Sammich

Nadia's personal bodyguard, Virgil is a large beast of a man with the heart of a teddy bear. That does not mean he will not do what it takes to protect Nadia. Virgil was born with an odd resistance to Star Magic that researchers believe to be a form of Star Magic in and of itself. In his free time, Vigil roams the Shalari Desert and visits local Sand Villages in search of travelers that may have become lost on their way to Neonopolis.   No one really knows why he does this but he insists that it is something that must be done.
